Luke Goedeke converted from tight end to tackle at Central Michigan and rose into a second-round pick who has started for the Buccaneers ever since. A foot injury cost him significant time in 2025, but Tampa Bay had already committed to him long-term with a nine-figure extension.
Path to the league
Goedeke redshirted his first year at Central Michigan before starting all 14 games at right tackle in 2019, earning Academic All-Mid-American Conference honors. A torn ACL wiped out his entire 2020 season, but he returned in 2021 to earn First Team All-MAC honors in a shortened six-game campaign. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected him in the second round, 57th overall, in the 2022 draft, making him the highest offensive lineman taken since Eric Fisher in 2013.

Goedeke has started regularly for Tampa Bay since his rookie season, moving between guard and tackle before settling in at right tackle. In 2024, Pro Football Focus graded him at 73.7 overall across 13 games, reflecting steady, if unspectacular, play in both the run and pass game.
2025 season recap
Goedeke suffered a foot injury early in the 2025 season, returned briefly, then landed on injured reserve for the same issue and missed six games. He was activated off IR in November and finished out the year at right tackle after signing a four-year, $90 million contract extension with the Buccaneers just before the season began.
