A towering Virginia Tech product, Luke Tenuta has carved out a career as a reliable swing tackle after starting out with the Packers and Bills.
Luke Tenuta is the kind of lineman teams lean on when injuries hit the tackle spot. After bouncing through Green Bay and Buffalo to start his career, he's settled into a swing-tackle role in Indianapolis, competing to back up the Colts' starting tackle duo.
Path to the league
Tenuta started all 12 games at Virginia Tech in 2021, working primarily at left tackle, and earned All-ACC honorable mention honors. As a redshirt sophomore he was named Third Team All-ACC after starting nine games at right tackle. He was selected in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Career highlights
Tenuta began his pro career with the Green Bay Packers before moving through Buffalo and eventually landing with the Colts, who claimed him off waivers during the 2022 season. He has carved out a niche as a depth tackle capable of playing either side of the line.
2025 season recap
Tenuta appeared in four games for the Colts in 2025, seeing extended action for the first time in his career. Across 28 offensive snaps, he allowed just one quarterback pressure, a strong showing that helped him earn a new deal to compete for the swing tackle job alongside Blake Freeland behind starters Bernhard Raimann and Jalen Travis.
