Malachi Corley is a wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns who arrived with a reputation as one of the most explosive after-the-catch threats in the 2024 draft class after two dominant seasons at Western Kentucky. His rookie year with the New York Jets did not go as planned, and he is now looking to establish himself in Cleveland.

Path to the league

Corley played four seasons at Western Kentucky (2020-2023), earning First-team All-Conference USA honors in both 2022 and 2023 after posting 101 receptions for 1,295 yards and 11 touchdowns in his breakout 2022 campaign. The New York Jets traded up to select him in the third round, 65th overall, of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

Corley's calling card at Western Kentucky was turning short passes into long gains, drawing at least 103 targets in each of his final three college seasons while scoring 29 touchdowns over that stretch. His rookie NFL season with the Jets was limited to 9 games and just 3 receptions for 16 yards, including a widely discussed play where he prematurely celebrated and dropped the ball before crossing the goal line.

2025 season recap

After signing with Cleveland's practice squad in August 2025, Corley was promoted to the active roster on September 30 and found more consistent playing time, appearing in 13 games with 5 starts and posting 11 receptions for 79 yards along with 13 rushing attempts for 127 yards. A concussion suffered against Tennessee on December 7 briefly interrupted his season, and he re-signed with Cleveland in April 2026.
