Marques Sigle is a safety for the San Francisco 49ers, selected in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft out of Kansas State. A team captain in his final college season, he carved out a real defensive role as a rookie beyond his projected special-teams contribution.
Path to the league
Sigle spent his first three college seasons at North Dakota State before transferring to Kansas State, where he started every game he played and was named a team captain in 2024. San Francisco selected him with the 160th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Career highlights
Across 50 career games between Kansas State and North Dakota State, Sigle totaled 174 tackles, 26 passes defended, 10.5 tackles for loss, seven interceptions and two forced fumbles. In his final college season, he led Kansas State with three interceptions while adding 60 tackles and 6.5 tackles for loss. He also impressed at the combine with a 4.37-second 40-yard dash and a 38-inch vertical jump.
2025 season recap
Sigle played in 15 games as a rookie and finished with 52 tackles, two pass deflections and a fumble recovery, production that went well beyond the special-teams role many expected for a fifth-round pick. He also drew praise from defensive coordinator Robert Saleh for his performance in San Francisco's Wild Card playoff game.
