MarShawn Lloyd

Running Back · USC

Explosive USC transfer running back whose Packers career has been repeatedly derailed by hamstring and knee issues.

MarShawn Lloyd arrived in Green Bay as a third-round pick with home-run speed, expected to complement free-agent addition Josh Jacobs in the backfield. Instead, his first two seasons have been defined by an inability to stay on the field, with 2025 wiped out entirely by a recurring hamstring problem.

4.46-second 40-yard dash at 2024 NFL Combine

Path to the league

Lloyd began his college career at South Carolina, missing the 2020 season with a torn ACL before rushing for over 800 yards and 10 touchdowns across 2021-22. He transferred to USC for 2023, running for 820 yards and nine scores on just 116 carries. The Packers took him in the third round (No. 88 overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

At the 2024 combine, Lloyd ran a 4.46-second 40-yard dash with a 36-inch vertical, underscoring the big-play ability that made him a Day 2 pick. He earned honorable mention All-Pac-12 recognition at USC in 2023. His rookie NFL season was limited by injury, and he has yet to establish himself as a consistent contributor in Green Bay's backfield.

2025 season recap

Lloyd did not appear in a single regular-season game in 2025 due to a recurring hamstring injury. After the season was cut short, he traveled to California to consult medical specialists, who determined the recurring issue may stem from the torn ACL he suffered in college.
