A former Giants third-round pick who has settled in as Denver's dependable swing tackle.
Matt Peart has spent his career as the kind of offensive lineman a team can plug in almost anywhere along the tackle spot without blinking. Now with the Broncos, the Jamaican-American blocker signed a two-year extension in 2025 to keep serving as Denver's top depth option up front.
Path to the league
Peart started all 48 games across his final three seasons at UConn, moving from left tackle to right tackle over his career and earning first-team All-American Athletic Conference honors and a team captaincy as a senior. The New York Giants drafted him in the third round (99th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft after he tested as one of the most athletic tackles in his combine class.
Career highlights
Peart spent his first four NFL seasons with the Giants before signing with the Broncos in 2024. He has carved out a career as a reliable backup tackle capable of stepping into either side of the line, appearing in more than 65 career games while starting a handful each season when injuries strike ahead of him.
2025 season recap
Peart signed a two-year, $7 million extension with Denver in March 2025. He got his first start of the season in Week 6 against the Jets after left guard Ben Powers went down with a biceps injury, but Peart himself suffered a knee injury early in that game and landed on injured reserve on October 14, ending his season.
