Mohamed Kamara is a Tampa Bay linebacker who built his reputation as one of the most productive pass rushers in Colorado State history. A fifth-round pick of the Miami Dolphins in 2024, he signed with the Buccaneers in 2025 after being let go by Miami and has continued his career on Tampa Bay's roster.
Path to the league
Kamara grew up in Newark, New Jersey, and starred at Central High School, recording 132 tackles with 11 sacks as a senior. He originally committed to Temple before redirecting to Colorado State after a coaching change. The Miami Dolphins selected him in the fifth round, 158th overall, in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Career highlights
Over five seasons at Colorado State from 2019 to 2023, Kamara totaled 45.5 tackles for loss and 30.5 sacks, the second-highest sack total in Mountain West history. His breakout 2023 season, with 13 sacks and 17 tackles for loss, earned him Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year honors and a first-team All-Mountain West selection.
2025 season recap
Kamara was waived by the Miami Dolphins on August 26, 2025, and signed to Tampa Bay's practice squad the next day. He spent the season developing with the Buccaneers before signing a reserve/futures contract with the team on January 8, 2026, and now wears number 59 on Tampa Bay's linebacker corps.
