Murvin Kenion III took an unusual road to the NFL, playing at City College of San Francisco, Idaho, Sacramento State and finally Nevada before signing with Green Bay as an undrafted free agent. The Vallejo, California native turned a single FBS season into his best statistical year and a Mountain West honor.
Path to the league
Kenion's path ran through City College of San Francisco in 2021, the University of Idaho from 2022 to 2023, and Sacramento State in 2024 before he transferred to Nevada for his final season in 2025. He went undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft and signed with the Green Bay Packers as a free agent.
Career highlights
Across his college career from 2022 to 2025, Kenion appeared in 44 games and totaled 162 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, a half-sack, 11 interceptions, 28 passes defensed and three forced fumbles. His ball production, including double-digit career interceptions, was a key selling point for NFL scouts despite the well-traveled college resume.
2025 season recap
In his only season at Nevada, Kenion started and played all 12 games, recording 59 tackles, five interceptions, five tackles for loss and two forced fumbles. He was named the team's Defensive Most Valuable Player and earned All-Mountain West Second Team honors before signing with the Packers as a UDFA.
