Nick Scott is the Carolina Panthers' starting safety out of Penn State.

Scott re-signed with the Panthers in March 2025 and bounced back from an injury-shortened prior season to start every game. The Penn State product began his career with the Los Angeles Rams, where he won a Super Bowl, before later joining Carolina. He is a steady free safety who logged a heavy snap count in 2025.

Path to the league

Scott played college football at Penn State, where he contributed as a defensive back and special-teams player for the Nittany Lions. The Los Angeles Rams selected him in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He developed into a starter in Los Angeles before signing with Carolina.

Career highlights

Scott won a Super Bowl with the Rams following the 2021 season. He re-signed with the Panthers on a one-year deal in March 2025 and turned in a productive, durable campaign. His 2025 season marked a strong rebound after injuries limited him to 10 games the prior year.
