A converted Auburn wide receiver and first-round pick who found his footing years later as a reliable nickel corner in Washington before joining Seattle.

Noah Igbinoghene was a first-round gamble by Miami in 2020, taken 30th overall as a raw athlete still learning the cornerback position. After a slow start and stops in Dallas, he became a steady contributor in Washington and now brings that experience to Seattle.

Path to the league

Igbinoghene began his Auburn career as a wide receiver before converting to cornerback as a sophomore. He finished his college career with 92 tackles, an interception, and two kickoff return touchdowns, including a school bowl-record 96-yard kickoff return in the 2020 Outback Bowl. He also competed in track and field in the long and triple jump. The Miami Dolphins selected him 30th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, making him the youngest player in that year's league at age 20.

Career highlights

After three uneven seasons in Miami, Igbinoghene was traded to Dallas in 2023, where he memorably returned a blocked field goal 58 yards for a touchdown in his Cowboys debut. He signed with Washington in 2024 and became the team's primary nickelback, recording 55 tackles and seven pass deflections across all 17 games. For his career he has totaled 119 tackles, an interception, 17 pass deflections, and a sack.

2025 season recap

Igbinoghene opened 2025 as a reserve in Washington before earning more defensive snaps as the season progressed, helping a Commanders team that finished 5-12. He hit free agency afterward and signed with Seattle in March 2026.
