A former second-round Georgia cornerback whose 2022 breakout made him one of the league's stickiest man-coverage defenders.

Tyson Campbell built his reputation in Jacksonville as a lockdown corner before a 2025 trade sent him to Cleveland. He remains one of the more physically gifted cover men in the league, with the size and speed to match up against top receivers.

Path to the league

Campbell was a three-year starter at Georgia, breaking into the lineup as a true freshman in 2018 with 45 tackles and a fumble-recovery touchdown. The Jacksonville Jaguars selected him in the second round, 33rd overall, in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

Campbell took over as a full-time starter in 2021 after the Jaguars traded C.J. Henderson, then broke out in 2022 with 70 tackles, three interceptions and 15 pass deflections across all 17 games, a season Pro Football Focus graded among the top five cornerback performances in the league. He scored his first career touchdown off a fumble recovery in 2023.

2025 season recap

Campbell opened 2025 with Jacksonville, posting 34 tackles, six pass deflections and an interception across five games before being traded to Cleveland on October 9, 2025. He finished the year with the Browns, adding 53 tackles, 12 pass deflections, an interception and a defensive touchdown over 12 games.
