Patrick Paul arrived in Miami as the first second-round tackle off the board in the 2024 draft, prized for his length and pass-blocking upside. After a rookie year as a swing tackle, he stepped into the starting left tackle job in 2025 following Terron Armstead's retirement and held his own behind a struggling Dolphins offense.
Path to the league
Paul started 44 games across his college career at Houston and earned first-team All-American Athletic Conference honors three years running. At 6-foot-7 and 331 pounds with long arms, he tested well at the combine, running a 5.13-second 40-yard dash and bench pressing 30 reps, and the Dolphins took him with the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the first tackle selected in the second round that year.
