An undrafted speedster out of Weber State, Rashid Shaheed turned a midseason trade into a Super Bowl ring and a second Pro Bowl nod.

Rashid Shaheed built his name in New Orleans as one of the league's most explosive return men and a deep-ball threat, then landed in Seattle at the 2025 trade deadline. He finished the year a champion, adding a Pro Bowl selection and a lucrative new contract to stay with the Seahawks.

Path to the league

Shaheed starred at Weber State from 2017 to 2021, becoming the only player in school history to earn All-American honors four times and setting the FCS all-time record for career kickoff return touchdowns with seven. He went undrafted in 2022 but signed with the New Orleans Saints, quickly carving out a role as a receiver and return specialist.

Career highlights

Over his first four seasons with the Saints, Shaheed caught 153 passes for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns while also contributing as a rusher and dynamic return man. His big-play ability as a punt and kickoff returner made him one of the more dangerous special-teams weapons in the league.

2025 season recap

Shaheed opened 2025 with the Saints before being traded to the Seattle Seahawks on November 4 in exchange for 2026 fourth- and fifth-round picks. Between both stops he finished with 59 catches for 687 yards, added big returns including one of the fastest touchdowns of the season, earned his second career Pro Bowl selection, and won Super Bowl LX with Seattle. He agreed to a three-year, $51 million deal to stay with the Seahawks.
