A junior-college-to-Oregon State cornerback whose journey was chronicled on Netflix's Last Chance U before he found a home with the Saints.

Rejzohn Wright's road to the NFL ran through Laney College, where cameras captured his story for Netflix's Last Chance U, before he became a first-team All-Pac-12 corner at Oregon State. After going undrafted and bouncing between the Panthers and Raiders, he landed with New Orleans, where he has slowly worked his way back onto the field after an injury-marred first season.

Path to the league

Wright began his college career at Laney College, where he was featured in season five of Netflix's Last Chance U, before transferring to Oregon State. He started all 13 games in 2021 with two interceptions and eight passes defended, then earned first-team All-Pac-12 honors as a senior in 2022 after recording 38 tackles, two interceptions, and nine pass breakups. He went undrafted in 2023.

Career highlights

After going undrafted, Wright signed with Carolina before being waived, then spent time on the Las Vegas Raiders' practice squad. New Orleans signed him to a reserve/future contract in January 2024, giving him his first extended NFL opportunity. His younger brother, Nashon Wright, also plays cornerback in the NFL, for the Chicago Bears.

2025 season recap

Wright's first year with the Saints was cut short when he was placed on injured reserve in August 2024. He returned to the field in 2025, appearing in four games as he continues working to establish himself in New Orleans' cornerback rotation.
