Samson Ebukam built his game at the FCS level before developing into a reliable NFL edge defender for over a decade. After a torn Achilles cost him the 2024 season, he worked his way back into form with Indianapolis before joining the Falcons.
Path to the league
Ebukam, born in Lagos, Nigeria, starred at Eastern Washington, racking up 188 tackles, 44 tackles for loss and 24 sacks over his college career. The Los Angeles Rams drafted him and he went on to appear in 64 games with 35 starts over four seasons in Los Angeles, recording 14 sacks.
Career highlights
After his time with the Rams, Ebukam signed with the San Francisco 49ers, where he started opposite Nick Bosa and posted 9.5 sacks and 74 tackles over two seasons. He then joined the Indianapolis Colts in 2023 and delivered a career-best 9.5-sack season that year. Across his career with the Rams, 49ers and Colts, he has totaled 297 tackles, 41 tackles for loss and 35 sacks.
2025 season recap
Coming back from the torn Achilles that ended his 2024 season, Ebukam played 14 games for the Colts in 2025, recording 33 tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks and 23 quarterback pressures. He signed with the Atlanta Falcons as a free agent in the 2026 offseason.
