Shedeur Sanders is a Cleveland Browns quarterback who made seven starts as a rookie in 2025 after a draft slide out of Colorado.
Sanders, who played for his father Deion Sanders at Colorado, fell to the fifth round of the 2025 draft. He got onto the field in Week 11 when Dillon Gabriel was concussed and went on to start seven games. He was later added to the 2026 Pro Bowl as an injury replacement.
Path to the league
Sanders played college football at Jackson State and then Colorado, both under his father Deion Sanders. He was projected by many as an early pick but slid to the fifth round, where Cleveland selected him 144th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year rookie deal worth roughly $4.6 million.
2025 season
Sanders backed up for the first nine games before debuting in Week 11 against Baltimore after Gabriel's concussion. In Week 14 against Tennessee he threw for 364 yards and three touchdowns, his first 300-yard game. He finished 3-4 in seven starts with 1,400 passing yards, seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions, per his season totals.
