Bears rookie defensive tackle out of Texas A&M whose first NFL season ended early with a torn ACL.
Shemar Turner arrived in Chicago as a second-round interior disruptor with high expectations and lofty personal goals. His rookie year was cut short by a torn ACL suffered in Week 8 against Baltimore, limiting him to five appearances. The Bears still view him as a long-term piece of their defensive line rotation.
Path to the league
Turner played college football at Texas A&M, where he started 12 games as a junior in 2023 with 33 tackles and six sacks before returning for his senior year. The Bears selected him 62nd overall in the second round of the 2025 draft and signed him to a four-year rookie contract in July.
2025 season
Turner suffered a season-ending torn ACL in the Bears' Week 8 loss to the Ravens. He finished his rookie year with five appearances, logging six tackles, including a pair of tackles for loss, on 74 defensive snaps before the injury.
