Steve Avila arrived in Los Angeles as a second-round pick with a reputation for elite run-blocking and positional flexibility, and he has held down the Rams' left guard spot since his rookie season. His pass protection has sharpened noticeably as he has settled into the role.
Path to the league
Avila played every offensive line position except left tackle across five seasons at TCU, capping his college career with consensus All-America honors at left guard as a redshirt senior in 2022, when he did not allow a single sack across 515 pass-blocking snaps. The Rams selected him with the 36th overall pick in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
