The Los Angeles Rams are weighing extensions for four members of their 2023 draft class entering the final year of their rookie deals: receiver Puka Nacua, defensive tackle Kobie Turner, edge rusher Byron Young and guard Steve Avila. Coach Sean McVay confirmed there's been "internal dialogue" about getting new contracts done.

Byron Young is managing a nagging knee injury on a day-to-day plan, echoing the cautious, modified-schedule approach the team has used with quarterback Matthew Stafford to keep players available for a full 17-game season.

Behind Stafford's modified schedule, Stetson Bennett IV and rookie Ty Simpson are competing for backup quarterback reps in what McVay called "a very important" competition. Running back Kyren Williams has also reworked his offseason approach, dropping receiver drills to sharpen his running back fundamentals: "My superpowers, when I'm low to the ground... I'm explosive," he said.
