A six-year Oregon lineman and All-Pac-12 honoree who spent his rookie year in Jacksonville before landing with the Steelers on a futures deal.
Steven Jones is a versatile interior offensive lineman who has played left tackle, right guard, and right tackle across his career. After going undrafted out of Oregon and spending his rookie season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Jones signed a reserve/future contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Path to the league
Jones played six seasons at Oregon, working across left tackle, right guard, and right tackle. As a redshirt senior in 2023 he started all 14 games at right guard for a Ducks team that reached the Big 12 Championship Game and won the Fiesta Bowl, earning first-team All-Pac-12 recognition. He went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft and signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Career highlights
Jones' first-team All-Pac-12 selection in 2023 capped a college career built on positional versatility across the offensive line. That flexibility carried into his professional evaluation, with teams valuing his ability to play multiple spots up front.
2025 season recap
After spending his rookie season with Jacksonville, Jones joined the Steelers on a future contract and played in all three of Pittsburgh's 2025 preseason games. He was released in final cuts but cleared waivers and spent the entire 2025 season on the Steelers' practice squad before re-signing on a reserve/future deal for 2026.
