A Super Bowl champion with Philadelphia and a two-time Academic All-American at Stanford, Thomas Booker IV found a breakout role along the Raiders' defensive line in 2025 after a trade brought him to Las Vegas.

Thomas Booker IV has taken a winding route through the league, from a fifth-round pick in Houston to a Super Bowl-winning reserve in Philadelphia to a rejuvenated starter in Las Vegas. A trade in the summer of 2025 gave him his first real opportunity to be a regular contributor, and he made the most of it.

Path to the league

Booker played four seasons at Stanford from 2018 to 2021, recording 159 tackles and 10 sacks across 43 games while earning two-time second-team All-Pac-12 honors. He was also a two-time first-team Academic All-American, the fourth player in school history to earn that distinction twice. The Houston Texans drafted him in the fifth round (150th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

Houston waived Booker in August 2023, and he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad, where he was part of the roster that won Super Bowl LIX over Kansas City. The Raiders acquired him from Philadelphia in a trade for cornerback Jakorian Bennett in August 2025.

2025 season recap

Booker's move to Las Vegas coincided with a career year. He started 13 games for the Raiders and set career highs with 44 combined tackles and five pass deflections, cementing himself as a rotational piece on the interior defensive line. He re-signed with the Raiders on a one-year deal in March 2026.
