Trebor Pena built a five-year college career as a do-it-all weapon, first at Syracuse and then at Penn State, where he capped his run with an MVP performance in the Pinstripe Bowl. The Bronx native went undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft but signed with Jacksonville, where his return skills and short-area quickness give him a path onto the roster.
Path to the league
Pena grew up in the Bronx and starred at Ocean Township High School in New Jersey, where he was also a standout in track and field. He spent four seasons at Syracuse from 2020 to 2024, missing the 2023 season with an undisclosed injury, before transferring to Penn State for his final year of eligibility in 2025.
Career highlights
Pena's best Syracuse season came in 2024, when he caught 79 passes for 871 yards and eight touchdowns and earned second-team All-ACC honors, capped by a career-high 128 yards against No. 6 Miami. Across his Syracuse career he also contributed as a kickoff and punt returner, scoring a 98-yard kickoff return touchdown as a freshman.
2025 season recap
In his lone season at Penn State in 2025, Pena appeared in 13 games and caught 49 passes for 552 yards and two touchdowns while adding 73 rushing yards, giving the Nittany Lions a versatile slot and return option. He capped the year by winning Pinstripe Bowl MVP against Clemson with five catches for 100 yards and a touchdown. Jacksonville signed him as an undrafted free agent after the 2026 NFL Draft.
