Missouri linebacker and former Butkus Award finalist who has built his early Packers career on special teams.

Ty'Ron Hopper transferred from Florida to Missouri and turned into one of the SEC's better linebackers before Green Bay drafted him in the third round in 2024. He was the only Packers rookie to play in all 17 games that season, and he has continued to carve out a role as a core special-teamer while pushing for a bigger defensive workload.

Path to the league

Hopper played college football at Florida before transferring to Missouri, where he earned second-team All-SEC honors in 2023 and became just the third Tiger ever named a finalist for the Butkus Award. The Packers selected him in the third round (No. 91 overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

Hopper was the only Green Bay rookie to appear in all 17 regular-season games in 2024, ranking fourth on the team in special-teams tackles with seven. He logged 215 special-teams snaps as a rookie, taking the field on roughly two-thirds of all Packers special-teams plays.

2025 season recap

Hopper earned praise from coach Matt LaFleur for improvement 'in every facet of his game' entering his second season, and he logged 133 total defensive snaps in 2025 while remaining a heavy special-teams contributor. He posted a strong preseason showing, finishing with eight tackles, a sack and a forced fumble, and graded as one of the team's better defenders on PFF during camp.
