Chicago Bears running back Kyle Monangai is expected to miss multiple weeks after hyperextending his right knee in Sunday's non-padded practice, a source told ESPN, when he was tackled from behind during an 11-on-11 period.

Monangai backs up starter D'Andre Swift, with Salvon Ahmed and Roschon Johnson picking up additional reps while he's out. This marks his second camp injury of the summer after an earlier soft-tissue issue.

Chicago selected Monangai in the seventh round (233rd overall) of the 2025 draft out of Rutgers, where he was a first-team All-Big Ten selection in 2024 with 1,279 rushing yards. As a rookie, he carried 169 times for 783 yards and five touchdowns, adding 18 catches for 164 yards.
