Chicago Bears assistant head coach and receivers coach Antwaan Randle El took over playcalling duties in the second half of Saturday's 34-10 win over Cleveland, an evaluation exercise from head coach Ben Johnson that sparked a 24-0 run.
How did Johnson explain the move?
"I thought he did a phenomenal job... part of the quarterback meeting last night... a phenomenal experience for him," Johnson said. He went further, predicting Randle El "has a chance to be an offensive coordinator... a head coach in this league."
How did the offense perform under him?
Chicago outscored Cleveland 24-0 across the stretch Randle El called plays, piling up 235 yards and 12 first downs. Veteran quarterback Case Keenum praised his leadership as "top-notch."
