Bengals Tight End Tanner Hudson Out for the Season With Torn Pectoral
Hudson was hurt making a special-teams tackle in the win at Miami, a week after scoring a touchdown in his first game back on the active roster. Zac Taylor called him Mr. Dependable.
Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tanner Hudson tore a pectoral muscle in Sunday's 31-24 win at Miami and will miss the rest of the season, his agent told ESPN on Tuesday. Hudson was hurt attempting a tackle on special teams.
What is Cincinnati losing?
A reliable third tight end. Hudson, 31, had three catches for 14 yards and a touchdown against the Dolphins and has 84 catches for 707 yards and five touchdowns in 42 games over four seasons with the Bengals. "He's just Mr. Dependable," Zac Taylor said Monday when he first disclosed the injury. He had been a surprise cut at the 53-man deadline, returned on the practice squad and was signed back to the roster on Sept. 29.
Who fills in?
Erick All Jr. and seventh-round rookie Jack Endries are the reserves behind Mike Gesicki. Cincinnati is 3-2 and on its bye this week.
