Patriots' TreVeyon Henderson Out Multiple Weeks With High Ankle Sprain
Henderson was hurt on an 11-yard run in the second quarter of the 45-17 win over Las Vegas and will not need surgery. Rhamondre Stevenson leads the backfield, with Corey Kiner behind him.
New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson has a high ankle sprain and is expected to miss multiple weeks, sources told ESPN. He was hurt in the second quarter of Sunday's 45-17 win over the Raiders and does not need surgery.
How did it happen?
Henderson came up hobbling after safety Jeremy Chinn tackled him along the sideline at the end of an 11-yard run. He had already missed the season opener with an ankle injury and has 42 carries for 163 yards and a touchdown in four games. The team hopes the absence is on the short side of multiple weeks.
Who carries the ball?
Rhamondre Stevenson, who had 64 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries Sunday, with Corey Kiner as the backup after 52 yards on six carries and a lost fumble. Undrafted rookie Lan Larison is likely to be elevated from the practice squad. The 3-2 Patriots host the Jets on Sunday.
