Jim Harbaugh Says Mike McDaniel's Job Is 'Not in Jeopardy' After Chargers Fall to 0-4

Los Angeles Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh backed offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel after Sunday's 30-23 loss at Seattle dropped the team to 0-4. "His job is not in jeopardy. He's a skilled coach, and we're going to keep growing," Harbaugh said.
How bad was the protection?
Justin Herbert was sacked four times and pressured 22 times, on 55 percent of his dropbacks, and the line's pass block win rate of 13 percent was the lowest by any team in 10 years. Herbert went 5 of 14 for 36 yards with two interceptions in the first half and 13 of 16 for 144 yards in the second. A week after telling Herbert to be better, Harbaugh called it "one of the real grittiest performances I've been associated with from a quarterback."
Who got hurt?
Tackle Joe Alt (neck) and receiver Ladd McConkey (foot) in the second quarter, guard Trevor Penning (head) in the third and tackle Rashawn Slater (ankle) in the fourth. The Chargers have now lost nine consecutive games dating to last season and host Denver on Sunday.
