The Los Angeles Chargers placed center Tyler Biadasz on season-ending injured reserve after he suffered ACL damage and additional left knee injuries during a joint practice with the 49ers, when San Francisco defensive tackle Sebastian Valdez fell into his leg during an 11-on-11 drill.

Biadasz, 28, played for Washington last season before signing with the Chargers in March on a three-year deal worth up to $30 million.

Rookie second-round pick Jake Slaughter becomes the starting center. He played center exclusively at Florida but had mostly been working at left guard in Chargers camp before this move.
