Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley and his family are safe after an attempted burglary at his home in Tredyffrin Township, Pennsylvania, early Saturday, according to ESPN. Police said the incident happened shortly after 5 a.m. ET, that at least one suspect entered the house while the family was inside, and that the suspects had fled by the time officers arrived. No one was harmed, and no arrests have been announced.

According to ESPN, the attempted burglary took place Saturday morning shortly after 5 a.m. ET at Saquon Barkley's residence in Tredyffrin Township, in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Barkley and his family were home at the time, and police said at least one suspect got inside the house while they were there. Officers who responded found that the suspects had already left. Captain Tyler Moyer of the Tredyffrin Township Police Department said the department's main concern was that the residents of the home were unharmed, which they were. Police are seeking at least two suspects and have released a photo of a white SUV connected to the case.

Tredyffrin Township police said they are looking for at least two suspects and shared an image of a white SUV tied to the attempted break-in as part of the investigation. Captain Tyler Moyer said the department will contact federal authorities to determine whether the incident is connected to organized theft rings that have targeted professional athletes, adding that police will look at all angles given how widely those cases have been reported in recent years. Police have not confirmed a connection, but ESPN noted that homes belonging to Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Joe Burrow have been targeted in recent years. Seven men have been charged federally in connection with burglaries aimed at athletes, and one was sentenced in June to 24 months in prison. Tredyffrin Township police said they will work with federal authorities to determine whether the attempt at Saquon Barkley's home fits that pattern. Barkley is the Eagles' star running back and a central figure in a Philadelphia offense led by quarterback Jalen Hurts, and the team opens training camp later this summer.
