Eagles Place Landon Dickerson on IR With Knee Bone Bruise
The left guard, who called himself 'a complete liability' in the opener, will miss at least four games; 2025 fifth-round pick Drew Kendall is the likely replacement.
The Philadelphia Eagles are placing left guard Landon Dickerson on injured reserve with a bone bruise in his right knee, sidelining him for at least four games.
What happened?
Dickerson was rolled up on in practice several weeks ago, and the bruise, unrelated to the meniscus surgery he had in 2025, won't heal while he keeps taking contact, he said. He played through it in Sunday's 24-22 win over Washington and was blunt afterward: "I was a complete liability. It was my fault." Coach Nick Sirianni: "He's tough as heck. We've won a ton of games with Landon, and there's a lot of good things that he can do."
Who plays left guard?
Drew Kendall, a 2025 fifth-round pick out of Boston College, is the leading candidate to start. Philadelphia also opened the season without edge rusher Jonathan Greenard, out with a pec strain.
