New York Giants receiver Calvin Austin III was carted off Tuesday's practice with a right knee injury suffered on a non-contact play during a one-on-one route-running drill against cornerback Deonte Banks.
How serious is it?
The severity hasn't been officially confirmed pending an MRI, though ESPN's Adam Schefter reported a source called it a "serious knee injury."
What's his role with the Giants?
Austin signed with New York as a free agent this offseason after spending his first four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and was slated as the Giants' slot receiver. Braxton Berrios has taken over first-team slot reps in his absence.
