Aaron Glenn Says Woody Johnson Remains Supportive as Jets Fall to 1-3
Glenn is 4-17 as Jets coach and has lost three straight. He says his post-game conversations with the owner, who has not spoken publicly in a year, are positive and built on trust.
New York Jets coach Aaron Glenn said Wednesday that owner Woody Johnson continues to back him after a 23-12 loss at Chicago dropped the Jets to 1-3. "Very positive conversations," Glenn said of their regular post-game talks. "There's also a trust factor there."
What is the context?
Glenn is 4-17 in 21 games since taking over, fired half his staff after a 3-14 first season, and the Jets have missed the playoffs 16 straight years. Johnson, on his eighth head coach, fired Robert Saleh after a 2-3 start in 2024 and has not spoken to reporters in a year. The losses to Green Bay and Detroit were by 3 and 7 points; Chicago outgained New York 492 to 157.
Who is available Sunday against Cleveland?
Breece Hall (quadriceps) is week-to-week, receiver Adonai Mitchell (finger) is likely to miss a third straight game, and tight end Mason Taylor (thumb) returned to practice and is questionable. Glenn held a walk-through instead of a full practice after the Chicago loss.
