Panthers Sign Veteran Linebacker Bobby Okereke
The one-year deal brings in a former Giants captain to compete for a starting inside linebacker job alongside fellow free-agent addition Devin Lloyd.
The Carolina Panthers agreed to a one-year contract with linebacker Bobby Okereke on Saturday, adding a former New York Giants team captain to their inside linebacker mix.
What does he bring to Carolina?
Okereke spent the past three seasons as a starting middle linebacker and team captain in New York, recording 143 tackles, one sack, six pass breakups and two interceptions in 2025 alone. A 2019 third-round pick out of Stanford who began his career in Indianapolis, he steps into an open competition at inside linebacker in Carolina alongside fellow free-agent addition Devin Lloyd, with Trevin Wallace and Claudin Cherelus also in the mix for a starting job.
