Will Levis Confident Despite Battling for Titans' Backup QB Job
Levis, competing with Mitchell Trubisky for the No. 2 spot behind Cam Ward, says he's 'a dang good quarterback' after an injury-plagued 2024 sent him to the bench.
Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis said he's at peace competing for the team's backup job behind Cam Ward, telling reporters at training camp that he still believes in his own ability. "There are not 32 quarterbacks in this league better than me," Levis said.

Tennessee's camp features four quarterbacks: Ward as the established starter, with Levis, Mitchell Trubisky and Hendon Hooker behind him. Levis is competing directly with Trubisky for the No. 2 role.
How did he end up here?
Levis went 5-16 as a starter in 2024, throwing 13 touchdowns against 12 interceptions with four pick-sixes, before shoulder surgery ended his season early. That performance opened the door for Tennessee to draft Ward and reshuffle the quarterback room entirely.
What is he saying about where he's at now?
Levis pushed back on any notion that the demotion reflects his ceiling. "When I get the opportunities, I know I'm gonna make the most of it and I'm going to shine," he said. "I know I put the tape out there already that I'm a dang good quarterback in this league. And I'm even better than I ever have been." He also acknowledged personal growth off the field, saying, "I've definitely turned into a man, and there's still a lot of growing that I need to do."
