Austin Hooper is a veteran tight end who signed with the Atlanta Falcons in March 2026 after a 2025 season with New England.
Hooper left Stanford early and became a two-time Pro Bowler during his first stint with Atlanta. He has since played for Cleveland, Tennessee, Las Vegas and New England. He returned to the Falcons on a free-agent deal in March 2026.
Path to the league
Hooper played for the Stanford Cardinal before the Atlanta Falcons selected him in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He earned Pro Bowl nods in 2018 and 2019 during his first stint in Atlanta before signing a then-record tight end contract with Cleveland.
2025 season
Hooper played 2025 with the New England Patriots, catching 21 passes for 263 yards and two touchdowns across 16 regular-season games, per ESPN's game logs. The Atlanta Falcons signed him on March 9, 2026, bringing him back to the team that drafted him.
