Path to the league

Woerner played college football at Georgia, where he was already regarded as one of the best blocking tight ends in the country. He entered the NFL as a draft pick and developed his role as a blocking specialist, first in San Francisco and later in Atlanta. His value has always centered on the trenches rather than the stat sheet.

Career highlights

2025 season

In his second season with the Falcons in 2025, Woerner was named one of the team's two starting tight ends alongside Kyle Pitts. He started 13 of 17 games, catching eight passes for 48 yards while primarily serving as a blocker. Atlanta ran the second-highest percentage of plays out of 12-personnel in the NFL, keeping Woerner heavily involved as a run-blocker.
