Beau Stephens anchored Iowa's left guard spot for three seasons, developing into one of the most decorated interior linemen in the country by his senior year. Seattle drafted him in the fifth round to add proven, physical depth to an offensive line that has already produced Hawkeye talent on the roster.
Path to the league
Stephens attended Blue Springs High School in Blue Springs, Missouri, where he was a three-year team captain and first-team all-state selection. He played five seasons at Iowa (2021-2025), starting regularly at guard from 2022 onward after redshirting his first year. Seattle selected him in the fifth round (148th overall) of the 2026 NFL Draft, trading a 2027 fourth-round pick to Cleveland to move up for the pick.
Career highlights
Stephens started at both right and left guard across his Iowa career, working through a season-ending injury in 2023 before returning to start all 12 games in both 2024 and 2025. He was part of an Iowa offensive line that won the 2025 Joe Moore Award, given annually to college football's top unit, while helping the Hawkeyes average 176.7 rushing yards per game and allow just 18 sacks.

In his senior season, Stephens started all 12 games at left guard and earned first-team All-America honors from the Associated Press, USA Today and Pro Football Focus, along with first-team All-Big Ten recognition.
