Mason Richman was one of the most experienced offensive linemen in the 2025 draft class after five years starting at Iowa, but questions about his ceiling pushed him to the final round. He beat the odds to earn a spot on Seattle's 53-man roster as a rookie, providing depth on an offensive line that won a Super Bowl.

Path to the league

Richman earned Iowa's starting left tackle job in 2021 and started 52 games over his final four seasons, the most by an offensive lineman during the Kirk Ferentz era. He was an All-Big Ten honorable mention selection and an Academic All-Big Ten honoree as a senior. The Seahawks took him with the 234th overall pick, their final selection of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

At 6-foot-6 and 312 pounds, Richman graded out as one of the better tackles in the country by Pro Football Focus in his final college season, and he was part of an Iowa offensive line that was a semifinalist for the Joe Moore Award. His volume of starts, 52 over four seasons, is among the highest of any lineman in his draft class.

2025 season recap

Richman made Seattle's initial 53-man roster as a rookie, working as a backup offensive lineman rather than being ticketed for the practice squad.
