A former FCS transfer whose blazing 4.32 forty helped him become Jacksonville's fourth-round running back of the future.

Bhayshul Tuten built his college resume at North Carolina A&T before transferring to Virginia Tech, then stole the show at the NFL Combine with the fastest forty-yard dash of any running back in his class. Jacksonville drafted him in the fourth round to pair with Travis Etienne, and he flashed real explosiveness as a rookie before a finger injury slowed his December.

Path to the league

Tuten began his college career at North Carolina A&T, breaking out as a sophomore with 1,363 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns, before transferring to Virginia Tech for his final two seasons. The Jaguars selected him 104th overall in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, the first Virginia Tech player Jacksonville had drafted since 2004.

Career highlights

Tuten earned second-team All-ACC honors in both 2023 and 2024 at Virginia Tech, running for 863 yards as a junior and anchoring the Hokies' backfield as a senior. His combine performance, a 4.32-second forty, was the fastest of any running back in the 2025 class and helped cement his draft stock.

2025 season recap

As a rookie, Tuten rushed for 307 yards and five touchdowns on 83 carries while adding 10 catches for 79 yards and two more scores through the air, also seeing time as a kickoff returner. His season was interrupted in mid-December when he needed finger surgery after a Week 15 injury against the Jets, sidelining him for the stretch run.
