Calen Bullock has developed into one of the Texans' most dependable defensive backs since Houston traded up to draft him in 2024. He capped his second season with a Pro Bowl selection and a highlight-reel pick-six in the playoffs.

Path to the league

Bullock started as a true freshman at USC in 2021 and became a first-team All-Pac-12 selection in 2023 after recording 42 tackles and two interceptions. The Texans traded up with the Philadelphia Eagles to select him with the 78th overall pick in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

Bullock intercepted a pass in his NFL debut and finished his rookie season with 54 tackles, 11 pass deflections and 5 interceptions across 17 games, earning a spot on the PFWA All-Rookie Team. He picked off nine passes total in his three-year college career at USC.

2025 season recap

Bullock started all 17 games at free safety in 2025, recording 64 tackles, 10 pass deflections and 4 interceptions. He scored his first career touchdown on a 50-yard interception return in the playoffs against Pittsburgh and was named to the 2026 Pro Bowl.
