Connor O'Toole is a Seattle linebacker whose path to the NFL ran through two position changes at Utah, from wide receiver to defensive end to off-ball linebacker as a pro. Undrafted in 2025, he forced his way onto the Seahawks' 53-man roster with a standout preseason and was part of Seattle's championship run in his first year.

Path to the league

O'Toole grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he was a two-time first-team all-state receiver at La Cueva High School and also won a state title in the 300-meter hurdles. He redshirted at Utah in 2020 as a receiver before switching to defensive end ahead of the 2022 season. Injuries limited his final two college seasons, and he went undrafted in 2025 before signing with the Seahawks.

Career highlights

After switching to defense, O'Toole posted 41 tackles, four tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks in his first season on the line in 2022. He followed with 31 tackles and 4.5 sacks in eight games in 2023 and 22 tackles and 2.5 sacks in eight games in 2024, production that came despite injuries limiting his availability.

2025 season recap

O'Toole opened eyes in Seahawks camp with a sack and a team-leading nine pressures during the preseason, which was enough to earn him a spot on the 53-man roster as an undrafted rookie. He appeared in games at linebacker, finishing with five total tackles and a fumble recovery, and was part of Seattle's Super Bowl LX championship team.
