Tyrice Knight took a winding path to the NFL, starting at a junior college before becoming one of the most productive linebackers in the country at UTEP. Seattle's fourth-round pick in 2024, he has quickly turned into a full-time starter in the middle of the Seahawks defense.

Path to the league

Knight began his college career at Independence Community College before transferring to UTEP for the 2020 through 2023 seasons. Over four years he started 43 games and racked up 390 tackles, capped by a 2023 senior season with 140 tackles, an FBS-leading 84 solo stops, and first-team All-Conference USA honors. The Seahawks selected him in the fourth round, 118th overall, in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

Knight made an immediate impact as a rookie, earning Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week honors and finishing his first season with 88 combined tackles, 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery across 16 games. His instincts and closing speed quickly made him a regular contributor in Seattle's linebacker rotation.

2025 season recap

Knight started regularly in 2025, appearing in all 16 regular-season games with 57 tackles, two sacks and six tackles for loss. He played in all three of Seattle's playoff games and won a Super Bowl LX ring as the Seahawks beat New England 29-13.
