A small-school cornerback from Washburn who has carved out a journeyman career on special teams.
Corey Ballentine starred at Division II Washburn before the Giants made him a sixth-round pick in 2019. He has bounced around the league as a depth corner and special teams contributor. He landed with the Cowboys in 2025 and re-signed with Dallas the following spring.
Path to the league
Ballentine was a standout at Washburn and earned a Senior Bowl invite as a small-school prospect. The Giants selected him in the sixth round in 2019. He has since played for multiple NFL teams in depth and special teams roles.
2025 season
Ballentine signed to the Cowboys' practice squad in September 2025 and appeared in five games. He logged two combined tackles on about 70 total snaps, most of them on special teams. He was promoted to the active roster on December 24 and re-signed with Dallas on a one-year deal in March 2026.
