Cornelius Johnson was a steady possession receiver on Michigan's 2023 national championship team before the Chargers drafted him in the seventh round. He has since cycled through the Chargers, Packers and now the Ravens, still chasing his first extended NFL role.
Path to the league
Johnson played five seasons at Michigan after being a Gatorade Player of the Year in Connecticut at Brunswick School. The Los Angeles Chargers selected him with the 253rd overall pick in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Johnson finished his Michigan career with 138 receptions for 2,038 yards and 14 touchdowns, capped by a national championship in 2023 that earned him All-Big Ten honorable mention. His junior-year 87-yard touchdown catch ranks among the longest in Michigan football history.
2025 season recap
After failing to make the Chargers' 53-man roster in 2024, Johnson signed a reserve/future deal with Green Bay in January 2025 but was released in the Packers' August roster cuts. Baltimore signed him to its practice squad shortly after, and he remains on the Ravens' roster.
