Path to the league

Bateman was a standout at Minnesota before Baltimore selected him in the first round, 27th overall, of the 2021 draft. Injuries slowed his early years in the NFL. He broke through in 2024 with 45 catches for 756 yards and nine touchdowns, which earned him a three-year, $36.75 million extension signed on June 5, 2025, that runs through 2029.
