Francis Mauigoa grew up in American Samoa before his family moved to California and later Florida, and he developed into the top offensive tackle recruit in the country before starring at Miami for three seasons. The Giants selected him with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, landing a plug-and-play tackle many analysts had rated as the best in his class.
Path to the league
Mauigoa was the consensus top offensive tackle recruit in the 2023 class, choosing Miami over programs including Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State and Texas A&M. He won the starting right tackle job as a true freshman in 2023 and started every game of his college career over three seasons. The Giants selected him 10th overall in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Mauigoa was a consensus All-American and won the ACC's Jacobs Blocking Trophy as the conference's top offensive lineman. In his final college season he allowed no sacks and just one quarterback hit across four playoff games as Miami reached the College Football Playoff National Championship game. His younger brother, Kiko Mauigoa, plays linebacker for the New York Jets after being drafted in 2025.
2025 season recap
In his final season at Miami in 2025, Mauigoa earned first-team All-ACC honors and was ranked among the very best offensive tackles in the country, helping anchor a Hurricanes offensive line that carried Miami to the College Football Playoff National Championship game. He declared for the draft afterward and went 10th overall to the Giants.
