Jacob Parrish built his reputation on pure speed, running the fourth-fastest 40-yard dash among cornerbacks at the combine after starring at Kansas State. The Buccaneers grabbed him in the third round of the 2025 draft, and he wasted little time proving the pick was worth it, becoming a productive piece of Tampa Bay's secondary as a rookie.

Path to the league

A state 100 and 200 meter sprint champion out of Olathe North High School in Kansas, Parrish parlayed that speed into a starting job at Kansas State, where he broke out with four interceptions and nine pass deflections in 2023. The Buccaneers selected him with the 84th overall pick in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft after he ran a 4.35-second 40-yard dash at the combine.

Career highlights

Parrish earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors in 2023 after picking off two passes in a single game against Texas. He finished his Kansas State career with 44 tackles, nine pass deflections and four interceptions in his breakout junior season.

2025 season recap

Parrish played in all 17 games as a rookie, starting five, and finished with 76 combined tackles, 2 interceptions, 7 pass deflections, 2.0 sacks and a fumble recovery. His well-rounded debut earned him a spot on the PFWA All-Rookie Team.
