Keionte Scott arrives in Tampa Bay as a fourth-round pick after one of the more well-traveled college careers in the 2026 draft class, spanning Snow College, Auburn and Miami. A San Diego native who also returned punts in college, Scott projects as a versatile nickel corner who thrives working underneath.
Path to the league
Scott starred at Helix High School in La Mesa, California, before starting his college career at Snow College, where he was twice named a junior college All-American and was ranked the nation's top junior college cornerback prospect. He then played three seasons at Auburn from 2022 to 2024 before transferring to Miami for his final season in 2025, and the Buccaneers selected him in the fourth round, 116th overall, of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Career highlights
At Auburn, Scott started at cornerback and doubled as a return specialist, posting 54 tackles in 2022 and 44 in 2023 before injuries limited him to 18 tackles in 2024. He transferred to Miami for 2025 and settled into the nickel role, where he became one of the ACC's most productive defensive backs.
2025 season recap
In his only season at Miami, Scott started 12 of 14 games at nickel and posted 64 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, five sacks, two interceptions (both returned for touchdowns), five pass breakups and two forced fumbles. He earned Second-team All-ACC honors and was named defensive MVP of the Cotton Bowl Classic.
