Jalyn Holmes won a national title at Ohio State before Minnesota drafted him in 2018. Since then he's bounced through the Saints, Giants, Bears, Jets, and Commanders, building a reputation as a reliable depth piece, and now joins Tennessee.
Path to the league
Holmes played defensive end at Ohio State from 2014-2017, appearing in 40 games with 85 career tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and five sacks. He was a two-time Honorable Mention All-Big Ten selection and won the 2014 College Football Playoff National Championship as part of the Buckeyes' rotation. Minnesota selected him in the fourth round (102nd overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Career highlights
Holmes spent his first three seasons with the Vikings before being released in September 2021, launching a well-traveled run through the Saints, Giants, Bears, and Jets via practice squads and active-roster stints.
